Great tutorial - Thank you so much!
Please the link doesn't work
Thanks a lot mate! I've been trying to find a video like this long time ago
Hi. Thankyou for this informative video. Earlier when i tried exporting the image files from sketchup and enscape and then tried layering them one above the other , I found the image sizes and proportions to be different... they just didn't seem to layer properly. It woulfd be or great help if you made a tutorial showing how to export raw render ID images and sketchup images that match in sizes and overlay properly thankyou.
Sure, I will. I'm back to RUclips in September. For now though. There is a button in the Enscape bar that looks like two arrows pointing in opposite directions. What this does, is it matches Enscape view to your SketchUp view. This should solve your first issue. In terms of different sizes. When you export SketchUp image, go to Options (Next to the image type you export) and copy image dimensions. Then when you go to export Enscape go to settings and put those SketchUp dimms into Enscape and that should match Everything.
@@lets_architecture thankyou so much
Another young 'RUclipsr-designer' with their head planted firmly up their ass. If you have talent - it shows. If you cannot draw, then you have a handicap or sorts, although design reflects communication of ideas however it is presentated. There are other means to convey ideas/concepts. - NOT Self-gratifying pretty pictures. As a tutor of many, many years I have seen everything through presentation - including striptease - by a male. Nonetheless, the loose meaning of the word: 'talent' always shines through, regardless of whether you have great presentation skills of not. Contemporary young people lack talent. They want it all now along with a quick-fix. One of the best submissions I witnessed was an applicant named: 'Charles Hopper'; or 'Chopper' as he preferred to be called. For his presentation, he took a polythene bag of excrement, tied it off, pinned it to the wall, took-up a baseball bat, then proceeded to strike the bag until it exploded all over the room covering most people. Having regained his composure after his exertion, Chopper merely stated: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I call this work: "Beating the shite out of the bag"'. He gained entry as we all knew that he had 'it'. Sadly, 'it' was not to be. Chopper eventually ended-up in mental care such was his abstract creative mind-set, but not before one of his finest works: sitting naked on a beautiful cake created as a perfect replica of Corbusier's 'Villa Savoye'. Again, he called this: "Masculine Creampie". The subtle wit of 'whacking-off in the dark' was not lost of those who understood Hans Anderson's tale of the 'Emperor’s New Clothes'. Louis - the Sun King had the same with Versailles. If not for Mansard, the building would never have evolved as it has over the years. Same with Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi - Statue of Liberty, and Jørn Utson - Sydney Opera House (competiiont presentation submitted on the back of a Napkin) - et al. So, give this video as miss as it shoe-horns you into one aspect of what some people believe to be design. Van Gogh daubed. Nonetheless, until you have seen; in the flesh, one of his canvasses painted during lonely afternoons out in the countryside in and around Arles, then one has never experienced the joy of colour giving so much reference to 'being' and 'life'. If you want to whack-off, then create a picture book portfolio, otherwise, be yourself = design comes in a variety of flavours. PS: I edit my comments as the author of this video probably means well - to help those people who are a little lost, thus bringing them into the fold of what people expect in general as a design portfolio. A form of gaining one's 'foot-in-the-door'. Regardless, I still maintain, that if you have 'it'. Talent shows through however you attempt to communicate it. If you do not hold an abundance of talent, then become something else, as Design is one of the toughest careers in life. Both between you and your clients, and you and yourself. There is no retirement package.
Great video! I’m just sad that my city doesn’t have 3D view abatible 😢
Where can I see the original on online, if possible? So impressed with respect as architect, regards.
Suuuuuper helpful tutorial! Enjoyed listening to your voice, the background music, and the simplicity of this technique! - Thankyou :)
Hey guys i hop u doin well i have problem with enscape the image is all black like the model is black idk why i searched in youtube and i didn't finde the solution plz if anyone knwe how to fix it plz tell me i need it
thank you a lot :)
jfc i can't imagine how much time went into making this. mad respect. you're such an inspiration! and it's not only about visuals, it's about the essence of work hugely as well. it's sad, that you put your thoughts on elaborating architecture out, that'd be interesting to hear. otherwise thank you for your work and best luck with everything <3 p.s. don't apologize for anything, you're fine and you're enough. people who subscribed to your channel like you as you are, so don't worry <3
Can u plz share a link of ur portfolio?

hi thanks for the video, could you please describe more about the PART 3 EXAM?
Birocratic - nice music choice. :)
Could you 3D print something like this?
thanks for the video! one question i have - how much time did you spend on re-editing your old work when doing the portfolio. that seems to be my biggest hurdle at the moment. did you feel like you had to make sure they graphically 'matched' each other?
Hello sir, Iam holding RIBA 1 ... What are things I can do in UK ?!
What do you mean? You can work as RIBA Part 1 Architectural Assistant.
Hi, I've completed my Part 1 Architecture in the UK. I am interested in studying my Part 2 at an international university, which is also accredited by RIBA. Will I still be eligible to proceed onto Part 3 in the UK? The university is accredited by RIBA but I don't think it's validated by ARB. Will this be a problem? Thank you
Hey, generally speaking if the course is RIBA accredited then you shouldn't have any problems, because you will be getting the RIBA Part 2 certificate automatically. However you might want to double check it with ARB.
What of if a school is arb accredited and not riba
could you please mention the font you are using for 'Lets Architecture' I really like the box like appearance. Would you say about having two or three different fonts to establish hierarchy?
Haha thanx. I've created the logo from scratch. Look on Dafont, you might find something similar there. Yes fonts can establish hierarchy, I wouldn't use more than 2 tho.
Can I ask which font do you use ? :)
James, I should say that I've already seen your portfolio on issuu, and had to click on the video instantly. The cover is soooo distinct!
Wow i thought at the beginning that your results will be nothing like the 1st picture you showed despite knowing that you just show the work flow. But you taught me all the steps i wanted to know i used to see them in renders but didn't know how to make it like that. Thanks!
Thanx I appreciate it. Glad you've learned something)
Loved this tutorial! Thank you for taking us through all the steps! 🙏
What softwares did you use for 11:20 and 14:18 renderings
Hey! I am an Indian and I have completed my bachelors as well as masters degree in architecture from India. Could you please guide in how to go about the entire ARB process as a foreigner? I would highly appreciate the help. Thankyou
NEED REPLIES ON THE SAME QN
Thanks a lot
5:47 I love this section... what software you used to build the model... (Revit?)
SketchUp
Your thumbnail background photo is misleading. I thought you were going to make the exact same image. The tutorial is still good tho. Please otherwise just take this as a constructive comment.
mannnnn the intro animation is amazing I totally loved it and most will appreciate your efforts in it!!!!
A bit too slow and a bit too much unnecessary talking and info....but good video
Couldn’t have explained it in a better way
Thanks Ser
How can I do this with a rhino model? Get these specific style type?
Thanks James! it was fun
Hey! I just started watching your channel! You are really great. Can you explain to me which collection you added in photoshop?
I wanted to ask which software you use for your models. Extremely detailed.
3ds Max. But, remember that the software is just a tool, it's all about how well you can use it.
great! That’s really help me a lot! thank you!
Can you tell us where i can find the last plugin that changes the effect ?
Its called the 'Nik Collection'
This work is absolutely beautiful!!
Nuts ! Well thought out project! I’m a sucker for historical relevance 👍🏼
What is that font in love it !
Sorry, I don't remember. Try 'whatthefont.com'
30x40 design workshop did a live stream in 2017 and I think the third portfolio reviewed is yours
YES! That's how my channel started)))
Sadly, for Turkey, 3d buildings are not included
Thank you so much for this tutorial. There aren't much tutorials on mixed digital Collage, the renders with the realistic but at the same time the textural quality to it. Would love to see more tutorials like these. :)
what font is this on your starting video

@@lets_architectureTHANKS
What is the font icon of your youtube channel .....plz suggest
00:17:00 - Technical report on 'Discrete architecture' (I have received top marks for it). 01:03:00 - 'Physical model' illusion in 3ds max + Corona
The detail on your sketchup model is insane. Look forward to seeing the video on this being rendered. Great videos!
Extraordinary work james! By the way i wanted to ask you that how many font types can be used for portfolio? Personally I liked the font you used, Is it geomterica font?
Thank you Manohar 😊. How many fonts can be used?... Ideally one. You can get different sizes and different weights, and that should be plenty. I know that some people prefer not to bother with weights, so in those cases you could use two fonts, one for titles and one for the general text. The font I used is called 'Underground 22', its the font that the 'Transport for London (TfL)' uses, and it is NOT free. I do love it)
Thanks a lot for the info! Keep inspiring with your amazing work👍
@@manoharpattar7806 thanx. I'm finishing my LAST year of studies, so videos r gonna have wait a bit
Great work sir.... But which front you used in this portfolio!
Akrobat
Great stuff man! I have a doubt, which is the best way (meaning the best format) to bring drawings from Illustrator to Indesign (for an online portfolio)? And when I say "best" I mean the one that gives you a fast and light workflow while working on the Indesign file, and the best final result in terms of pdf size/quality on screen relation. Hope that was clear 🙂
Thanx. Well, it shouldn't really matter on HOW one imports the file (personally I always 'drag & drop' them. If the Indesign file gets too long you can change the 'Display performance'. When you export you can set up the 'quality's and size of the final PDF file, plus you should use 'Interactive PDF' for online portfolios, not 'Print PDF'. Hopefully I've answered ur question. Tell me if u need more clarification
